I’m a WOMAN and I SAY SO…
I’m sad…and I’m sure every sane person in this country is.
What can I do now?
How can I act so that this doesn’t repeat in our society?
Or maybe there is another way?
These questions have been tormenting my heart no end but action must be taken, this emotion cannot be wasted, lets invest it into action. So here is what I’m sharing
Let’s Trade Peace for violence
Compassion and patience for hatred
lets trade healing for blaming
but HOW? its easier said than done you may feel,I know its not easy, its tough when time lashes such a cruel n inhuman incident on you…questions like this trouble the heart…it’s beyond the intellect…
I take inspiration from this quote of Guruji “if a room has been in darkness for 20yrs it doesn’t take 20yrs to bring light in it” I want to be a part of that light that diminishes darkness, darkness of ignorance, darkness of insensitivity, darkness that feeds the demons of lust and utter disrespect…
There are many stories from the Puranas and Upanishads which share of troubled times in society when demons committed these heinous acts we see today and there has always been the cosmic energy that manifested as MahaKali and Durga to bring it down... Kaali is not some concept, not an idea, its you and me, when we woman come together peacefully to pray, meditate and serve this society:we take charge...even Buddha brought peace in a warring society with meditation…when our country is resplendent with such examples, why cant we learn and replicate?!Lets use the strength that has stood the test of time…
No matter how stringent the law unless the mindset is changed its incomplete. Change can happen only for 3 reasons 1.greed 2.fear 3.love and only change that comes out of love lasts the longest. Yes we will also need fear, but then look at the middle eastern countries where punishment is stringent, is it the most peaceful? clearly not…like a rock that wears away with the consistent clashing with waves,I firmly believe with my 10yrs of experience as a volunteer and meditator, ignorance can be washed away with Meditation…
Hence I see that the need of the hour is Meditation, there are no 2 ways about it, the more we connect, the larger the numbers, stronger the intention, the greater the manifestation-the impact…lets take a moment to pray, lets take sometime to meditate and bring in a positive change…it was this power the father of our nation used to bring freedom to our country and today is no different…
“Ano Bhadra kratvo yantu vishwataha” let noble thoughts come to us from all directions…Om shanti Shanti Shanti…Peace be within me, Peace be in my society and Peace be in the entire universe…
-Shilpa Rau

thanks for sharing ………….take care..jgd
I agree.. Only one who is peaceful can bring peace to others.
Very much true… absence of love and affection, turns into frustration, and this leads to hatred and violence. meditation helps us connect to people, to love and to forgive….
yes.. I’m quite tired of all this shouting!
Women are not about feminism and proving themselves. In fact, it is so silly to stoop down to the level of begging for ‘equality’
Being a rebel doesnt solve anything. Fear is temporary. Even if those *******’s are hung, that will NOT stop people from committing crime.
Society needs to be clear about what they want. We want a safe country for all our people. This can ONLY happen if their conscience is rekindled.
The thought of crime itself should not cross minds. that is what we should aim for.
Not sensationalising issues with morchas that are pushed down by political pressure.
JAI HIND!
Great 1………….. loved it…………………………………..
True.. MEDITATION is the need of the hour……!!
I agree that a spiritual wave is definitely needed..but capital punishment and castration and their proper implementation, though will not stop such acts but it will certainly reduce such acts to great extent
Dear Shilpa! Its really Great!. The answer could be and should be MEDITATION. But at this hour only people who could understand the power of meditation are the ones who have tasted it. But what about the people who have sadness & anger inside them? What should they do? They/We need some action from the govt. or the youth… We surely need direction at this hour! And you have rightly said, this emotion must not go wasted.
lil bit of meditation and a lil bit of humanity can bring a great flavor to our country.
nicely constructed article and the sloka at the end did the rest.
really nice one. Thanks for sharing
The thoughts pouring out of one’s mind reflects the state of mindset of the society in a miniscule scale,
we should appreciate the feelings of one such young lady in Shilpa Rau.
The problem should be seen at three time frames of past-present & future ; past to know where we have failed as a society, present what should be done….lawfully and correctionally in the system, and for future the perfect commandments of all the ‘wisemen’ in dissimating the cruelty from each member in the society.
Somewhere it is written……as all saints had a past , all sinners have a future……let’s try to mould the future of our siblings.
At a different level of understanding of this crucial issue, the present socio-economic-demographic pattern of our country needs lot of corrective methologies; of all such alternatives, the spiritual path appears to be the best in the given situation to bring in discipline in our youth with a good knowledge & knowhow about the stringent legal course…..
if they have clarity of thoughts, then they may not venture to fail their parents expectations and wishes of them……Jai Gurudeva
Very well written. Truly, the spiritual path to bring about this positive transformation in the mindset of people and the society as a whole seems to be the only way.
Profound, Crisp and Intriguing…
Rightly said.. the change has to be long lasting.. Strict Law etc is needed but thats not the only solution. Law is only after the act. We need to get to the root cause.. Root is the mind & the sick mentality.. Meditation is the way forward.
Quite surprise to realize that all critical changes in our society when needed most has been brought by the Spiritual masters. Specially when i read abt ur ref to Budha, Krishna, Chankya and quite a few others came across my mind.
I happen to come across an article and i’m fairly confident the reader of you blog will relate to your view point more…. Its abt our Rich Spiritual and Cultural heritage which was broken first and then we became slave to the British Raj.. And till now we’re not out of it. http://www.stephen-knapp.com/uncovering_the_truth_about_India's_history.htm
A must read.
TIme for us to introspect, and all of us need to ACT.
I’m sure with the restlessness i see in your article, i’m fairly sure that the change has Begun.
Time to TAKE CHARGE..
a very well written artical, exactly the thoughts going through most of our minds,we all are into it together & Guruji leading & guiding us,won’t take very long for the light to dawn,
Jaisa Man waisa Jan the society is the reflection of our Mind
